1. Who We Are
CycleBuddy is developed and operated by PG App Studios ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the CycleBuddy mobile application ("the App").

2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account details: name, email address, and password when you register.
- Profile data: age, weight, fitness level, preferred ride type, and pace. This data is used exclusively to personalise your ride plans.
- Profile photo: optional image uploaded to your profile.
- Ride content: ride titles, descriptions, dates, and routes that you post.
- Chat messages: text messages sent within ride group chats and direct messages.
Information collected automatically
- Location data: GPS coordinates when you have the app open and location sharing enabled. Location sharing is opt-in per session and can be turned off at any time. We use your location to show nearby rides and cyclists on the map.
- Device token: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token stored to deliver push notifications to your device.
- Usage analytics: anonymised app usage events collected via Firebase Analytics to help us improve the App.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

5. Location Data
Location sharing is entirely optional. When enabled, your approximate position is visible to other CycleBuddy users who have the app open. You can turn location sharing off at any time from the map screen. When sharing is off, your location is not stored or transmitted.
We do not share your location data with advertisers or data brokers.
6. Data Retention
- Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Chat messages are retained to maintain conversation history for ride participants.
- You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, rides you created, and messages you sent.
7. Children
CycleBuddy is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.

9. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase Authentication, Firestore security rules that restrict data access to authorised users only, and encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we are committed to protecting your data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
