Never Get Dropped Again: How Pace Matching Works

The number one reason cyclists avoid group rides isn't antisocial behaviour — it's fear. Fear of being dropped, of holding everyone up, of the silent judgement at the café. Pace matching kills that fear.

Every ride wears its pace

On CycleBuddy, every ride is labelled: easy (16–20 km/h), moderate (21–26), fast (27–32) or racing (32+). You know before you join exactly what you're signing up for. No surprises at the first hill.

Filter to your level

Every ride card shows its pace band before you join — Easy, Moderate, Fast or Racing — and your own rides take their pace from the fitness level in your profile. A moderate rider never has to accidentally join a chain gang again.

Slow is a feature

Easy-paced and casual rides are some of the most popular on the app. Coffee rides, social loops, recovery spins — there's a crew for every speed, not just the fast one.

Find your pace group
