The Hydration Plan Most Cyclists Skip (Until It's Too Late)

Dehydration is sneaky: by the time you're thirsty, your power has already dropped. Most riders carry two bottles out of habit, not calculation. On a hot 100 km day, that habit hurts.

The baseline

At moderate pace you need roughly 500–750 ml per hour. Above 25°C, add 10%. Simple numbers — but almost nobody multiplies them by their actual ride time before rolling out.

CycleBuddy does it per ride

Every ride plan includes a hydration guide: total litres, 750 ml bottles to carry, and millilitres per hour from your pace — 500 to 750 ml — with 10–30% more when it's above 25 °C at the start.

Refill points matter

The plan's café and shop stops double as refill points, spaced so you're never rationing the last third of a bottle two hours from anywhere.

Drink to a plan, not to thirst

It's a small feature that saves big rides. Plan your next long route in CycleBuddy and roll out knowing your water maths is already done.
